"You've got to get your mind right. Dr. Gary Beale helped me achieve my ultimate goal of winning the Race Across AMerica. His Mental Training Program focused my mind on positive affirmations to replace negative thoughts and doubts. His guidance enlightened me to thoughts that I was not even aware of that were hindering my performance. Dr. Beale's Mental Training Program helped enable me to progress from touring cyclist to consistent contender to 3 time RAAM champion."

ROB'S TIP #2
You REALLY ARE what you eat - especially over time. Make fueling and hydrating your body a priority. Study nutrition and make an effort to routinely be conscious of your diet. Remember that recovery is dependent on replenishment of nutrients and water. |

ROB'S TIP #3
Become one with your bike. Like your bike. Become your own mechanic off-season. |

ROB'S TIP #4
Appreciate your crew and network of supporters. I find a personal manager is key to helping me accomplish my goals. RAAM takes a lot of logistical planning throughout the year and you'll need help. You'll need several crewmembers to help you reach your Peak Performance during the event. You will need two skilled bike mechanics, a sports massage therapist, an electronics whiz, and several reliable and enthusiastic crewmembers for various duties such as driving, navigating, food preparation, shopping, and recordkeeping. |

ROB'S TIP #5
TRAIN, TRAIN, TRAIN. You must become accustomed mentally and physically to cycling all day. You must be accustomed to riding alone for hours on end and in adverse weather. You must learn how to deal with discomfort. |
|
|
|
|
|
ROB'S TIP #6
These pointers are all inter-dependent and not always easy to focus on with a job and a family. You'll need your family's support and hopefully you can fit the training in around the job. Try to set attainable goals initially and work up to increased mileage. Challenge yourself to stick to your regimen, your game-plan. |

DOES THE PROGRAM WORK ? YES! HEAR IT FROM THE CREW...
"As crewmembers, we could actually see the impact of Dr. Beale's affirmations. It was phenomenal! Within minutes of switching to Dr. Beale's audio tapes, Rob's cycling form would improve, his cadence would increase, and he'd quickly pick up his pace."
--- Brenda Kish, Rob's Crew Chief |
